Google's Helpful Content Update
In September 2023, Google introduced one of its most groundbreaking updates: the "Helpful Content Update." This led to a significant drop in SEO performance for countless businesses. While many assumed it was a temporary glitch, Google followed up with the "Spam Update" just weeks later, silencing all doubts.
The message was clear: This was a strategic response to the rise of tools like ChatGPT and the potential to generate limitless amounts of content. The era of keyword stuffing for SEO gains had come to an end.
While many complained, we decided to roll up our sleeves and dive deep into Google’s documentation for possible hints. That’s when we realized that their algorithm analyzes content in a way that is completely distinct from how we—humans—perceive it.

This revelation inspired us to develop a unique content workflow aimed at writing content that "speaks Google’s language" — NLP, semantics, and entities. To test our approach, we launched a website in the pest control niche in March 2024, using this particular writing workflow.
